Goodbye Summer

A Poem - Goodbye Summer

This morning,

I wore my fluffy robe and warm slippers

when I went outside.

Summer had gone with a whisper in the night

without a tender goodbye.

I’ll miss you, I called out

as I sipped my dark coffee

blowing the steam into the wind

like an offering

to the changing season.
