What if I Dared

A Poem

What if I dared to dance in the rain

allowing the soaking

through my skin to

meet the waters of my body,

like the salty rivers that run

to the ocean

afraid to be left alone

consumed by dying.

Grey earth in timeless caverns

echo the nothingness the soul feels

when left utterly

alone.
